"Serving the Shores of Big Moose Lake" Vol. 53, No. 2

Summer Starts Early at Covewood

Summer has already begun at Covewood, well ahead of the Summer Solstice. Of course, many people are convinced that summer in the Adirondacks starts around July 17 and ends a few hours later, but at Covewood we know it starts when Di takes her first dip in Big Moose Lake and lasts as long as there are summer guests. The good news is that Di's Dip this year was the second earliest on record, making this summer the second longest in Covewood's history. On Friday, May 14, Di entered South Bay and swam five strokes out and five back. She performed the requisite head-dunk before repairing to the main dock, marking the official start of Big Moose Summer.

Of course, the Covewood staff is now very busy readying the grounds, waterfront and cottages for an incredible North Woods summer and guest arrival during the next few weeks. Since space is limited during the summer, you should call now for your reservations (800-357-7530). Of course, it's never too early to get choice backaccommodations for the Fall as well.
