Resting
after a hike up Bald Mountain
|
|
|
|
Covewood offers an incredible variety of
fun activities for all members of your family. Whether
on the water or on the land, you'll always have
something to do. |
Covewood's
water options range from sailing to kayaking to motor boating to
canoeing -- water sports are unlimited. Hourly, half-day and full-day water-craft rentals are generally available. If
dry land adventures are more to your liking, the
surrounding 1300 acres of Adirondack park land offers
miles and miles of hiking, snow-shoeing and cross-country skiing trails. The north woods treks
range from the easy to the very challenging. All can take
you to incredible mountain-top vistas or along burbling
brooks. Detailed maps are available
online.

Annual Traditions Are the
Best
For decades guests
have created their own Covewood traditions, many of them
intended for recreational purposes and to keep the kids
busy (or at least amused by the parents' attempts at
athleticism). One such tradition is Sindoni Baseball.
Sindoni Baseball is played every evening by the Covewood
guests of the mid part of July, and has its unique rules
to account for the variety of talents of its
participants. As you can see from this photo, the
players are still smiling after every game!
To see more of our traditions and what our guests do for
enjoyment, visit our online Scrap
Book and Photo
Album.

Water Skiing
Available
Whether
you're the experienced or novice water-skier, nothing is
more fun than zipping up and down the South Bay of Big
Moose Lake. Beginners can look forward to the expert
teaching of Major and Di.
Didn't Bring a Boat?
Canoes, sail boats, motor boats, kayaks, and
water bikes are available for rental to all
guests. Of course, we have a great tennis court
nestled just in the shadows of the pines if you
prefer something drier.
Kids'
Counselors
Covewood
provides an excellent staff of children's
counselors to keep your kids engaged and
entertained with group games and
arts-n-crafts activities.
Your children can participate in tie-dying,
capture-the-flag, hikes and other exciting
and fun activities throughout the week.

| Children
& Covewood |
Children
are very welcome at Covewood.
Togetherness is great, but parents and
children deserve some time to themselves.
Parents can relax knowing the children are
safe and having fun.
Experienced counselors plan games,
trips, crafts and picnics for various age
groups.
The
children's program runs daily for about 3-4
hours at no charge.

There
are a sandy children's beach and a rumpus
room. |
